Biography

Rosa Belmonte is a 28-year-old Spanish soprano from the region of Murcia, began her musical training at the age of 6 with private piano and singing lessons. From ages 8 to 18, she studied clarinet at the Conservatory of Music in Murcia and then pursued vocal training at the Professional Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, where she was a finalist in the Entre cuerdas y metales singing competition in 2017, and at the Professional Conservatory of Music in Valencia, Spain.

Rosa continued her studies in opera in Belgium, obtaining her Bachelor's in Voice under Sabine Conzen at the Royal Conservatory of Liège. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Opera with singer and actress Natacha Kowalski at the same conservatory. In April 2024, Rosa completed an Erasmus BIP at the Cesare Pollini Conservatory in Padua, where she refined her skills in recitativo secco with Italian speech therapist Stefano Patarino, focusing on recitatives from Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro.

The young soprano has performed at the Teatro Romea in Murcia in Donizetti's L'Elisir d'amore as part of the Opera Studio Murcia chorus and as a cover for the role of Adina. She gained professional solo experience performing at Théâtre Le Moderne in Liège, in roles such as Fiorilla in Il Turco in Italia by Rossini, and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro by Mozart.

In 2024, Rosa made her German stage debut performing at the Berlin Opernfest, where she portrayed Prima Cercatrice in Puccini's Suor Angelica. She also performed as Marie in the operetta Les Mousquetaires au Couvent by Louis Varney at the Théâtre du Trianon in Liège.

In september 2024, Rosa joined the MM Academy of the Théâtre Royal de La Monnaie/De Munt in Brussels where she continues to train and perform.

She has participated in Masterclasses with Jessica Cambio, Ofelia Salas, Pierre-Yves Pruvot, Julie Delbart, Céline Scheen, and Nobuko Amemiya and took part in Angel Blue's Sunday Recital Series for young singers.
