Biography

Rosa Belmonte is a Spanish soprano from the region of Murcia. With a background in piano and clarinet, she turned her focus to classical singing, studying voice at the Conservatories of Cartagena and Valencia, where she was one of the four finalists in the Entre cuerdas y metales singing competition XX ed.

In Belgium, Rosa obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Voice at the Royal Conservatory of Liège, studying with S. Conzen V. Solhosse, and N. Kowalski. She also took part in a training on recitativo secco at the Conservatorio Cesare Pollini in Padua, working on Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro as Susanna.

On stage, Rosa made her operatic debut as Adina in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore at the Teatro Romea in Murcia, as part of the Opera Studio Murcia. She made her German stage debut in 2024 at the Berlin Opernfest, where she performed the role of Prima Cercatrice in Puccini's Suor Angelica. That same year, she sang the role of Marie in Louis Varney's operetta Les Mousquetaires au Couvent at the Théâtre du Trianon in Liège. At Théâtre Le Moderne in Liège, Rosa performed the role of Gillotin in Gilles et Gillotin by Ambroise Thomas in a lively commedia dell'arte-inspired production.

Since September 2024, Rosa has been affiliated with the Théâtre Royal de La Monnaie / De Munt in Brussels, in which she continues to perform as MM Soloist, under the direction of maestro Alain Altinoglu. Within this framework, she performed the role of La Fata Azzurra in Respighi's La Bella Dormente nel Bosco in May 2025. 

Rosa is a member of the PBA Studio for the 2025–26 season, directed by Patrick Leterme, at the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Charleroi.

She also performs oratorio repertoire, and recently sang the role of Eve in Haydn's Die Schöpfung at the Église Saint-Félicien in Issigeac, France. In the same venue, she took part in a gala concert alongside soprano Nelly Miricioiu, presenting Romantic repertoire.

In 2025, she won the Prize of Art Lyrique at the Concerts Permanents Society in Wallonia, and she was a Finalist at the International Voice Competition Germans Pla in Catalonia.

She has participated in masterclasses with Mariana Flores, Claron McFadden, Pierre-Yves Pruvot and Céline Scheen amongst others, and took part in Angel Blue's Sunday Recital Series for young singers.
